Semi-automatic espresso machine with portafilter by Sage, model the Barista Express SES875. It works with ground coffee and a portafilter, so dose, tamping and extraction time stay in the hands of the person making the coffee. It is intended for those who want control over espresso at home and who also prepare milk drinks with the steam wand.
When choosing, look at the pump pressure, the basket type (pressurised or not), the power and heating system, the tank volume and whether a grinder, tamper and milk jug are included. Freshly ground coffee and a grind suited to the basket are needed; the appliance requires a 220-240 V socket and free space to handle the portafilter.
